On December 12, 2022 Holy Trinity prepared over a hundred Hampers and donated them within the surrounding community on the Peninsula. Phyllis Wrobel, a parishioner, made 100 beautiful Christmas Cards to be included in the Hampers and Penny Donaldson and Lorea Tomsin signed and prepared each card. We loaded the dry goods: rice, flour and coffee in advance of Monday, December 12th when the fresh vegetables and fruit arrived from Fairways. The boxes were topped off with a soft loaf of bread and TP. Loading the boxes went very quickly with many hands making light work. Fairways came a little early and that coupled with experienced helpers meant the job was done quickly. Teams coming from the bands picked up their boxes and distributed them to families in need. Some of our Hampers went to Beacon Community services and were distributed to those in need.
A big thank you to everyone who donated to our Outreach Hamper fund and to those who helped put the Hampers together. We continue to support our community both within our church and beyond.
Lyle Henry from our local community plans to attend both our services on January 29, 2023 to give personal thanks for the gifts received and the ongoing community work of Holy Trinity.
